You might say I am product of both the American and the Barbadian music system. I have been involved in the music department since fourth grade. Participating in the orchestra as a violinist (although I really wanted to play the clarinet), but stayed with it, and was also member of the chorus and drama club till 9th grade.

Salem, MA. HS
In high school I went on to join the Jazz ensemble, Rock ensemble, Concert Choir, Drama club, and Orchestra. Because I could not play a band instrument, but I truly wanted to participate. I decided to become Salem High’s. First female drum major. I held the position of 1st Drum Major for three year of the Flying Witches. (Not really big on the word can’t be done) the competitor in me just does not feel it I guess.

After high school I joined the Salem Mass. Derby Square Street Theater, performing in productions such as “Gas Light”, “Man of La Mancha”, and “Pirates of Penzance”.

Playing: (violin, Acoustic bass, keyboard percussion, African, West Indian and Some Latin percussion instruments, and anything else I can hit bang or shake) The Pit can never have enough toys…LOL

More than 25 years Marching Bands.

9 years of Drum Corps, Marching with the CT. Hurricanes D&B.C.

Instructing/Tech – keyboards: Branford H.S. – 2 yrs

Instructing – marching: Naugatuck H.S. (Had the pleasure of traveling to Paris-Normandy for 13 days with entire music Department.) Very talented and hard working young people.

And just when I thought there was nothing left for me to compete in musically. I had the privilege and the pleasure of doing DCI, for the first time with the 7th Regiment at the age of 47 in 2006. (How’s that for Maxing out...) I have always thought of Marching Band as the only musical sport, DCA Drum and Bugle corps as the hard-core version. But I find DCI the most extreme, hard-core music sport there is. (Not for the timid, but once it catches your heart, you find you would never want to trade in one memory or a new friend made to be anywhere else)

A special note to the 2007 7th Regiment Corps. I want to thank you for the intensity, the talent, your cooperativeness, and the joy I found in all of you. You were the most talented students, staff, and support staff I have ever been on the field with. After over 25 years participating in music, if asked to name my dream-team. You would be it. And for that much Love and Respect. It truly was an honor.

Now 2008 are upon and I look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones. They say 3 is the magical number. I say. LET’S DO THIS!!!!!!!!!
